Hello, my name is Demetra Lewis welcome to my world. Born In Philadelphia PA, raise in Delaware with two younger siblings, I found my passion for doing hair at a very young age.

I started doing hair when I was 15 years young in my mother’s living room. Being the oldest of 3, I Started with my little sister’s hair, Then my local friend’s hair & so on & so on. I never had a Real 9-5 job, in fact my first “Job” if you call it was a shampoo assistant at a salon called HairTrendz in Newark, DE.

By the Age of 16-17 years young, From Highschool completing only Grade 9, I went & enrolled myself into cosmetology school. By the grace of God, the school “American Beauty Academy “allowed me to become a full-time student. From there, my passion for being a hairstylist grew tremendously. I loved everything about Hair. Being able to make women feel beautiful everyday was the greatest feeling. It wasn’t the money I was after … it was being able to have the ability to make a change in this world, put a smile on someone’s face, make women feel more confident & beautiful about themselves. && That’s Priceless if you ask me.

By the Time I Graduated Hair school, I was already working in a salon & taking house calls in my mom’s apartment where I was able to start building a clientele. I so then Graduated Cosmetology school and was ready to take my state boards. Until I realized in order to take the state boards here in Delaware, I had to go BACK to school to get my Ged. I was totally disappointed !! but I didn’t let that hold me back. I then took a break from the salon where I was working an went to enroll in an Adults alternative school, where I then received my GED.

After my GED was finally over, I then proceeded to take the state boards to become an official hairstylist!!!  after failing the theory 3 times finally, I passed on my fourth try !!!! an Boom , I was finally a Licensed cosmetologist here in the state of Delaware.

From there my career took off. I went back to the salon where I was assisting. The owner Ms. Grace (R.I.P), gave me my chair and when I tell you, My business Got busier & busier !!! to the point that I was taking 8-13 clients PER DAY !! with no social media Advertising at the time. Just Hard work and dedication.

I opened my first salon at the age of 21. The beauty of owning a business for me was being able to be in the position to put other young women & men in the position to WIN! Give others a foundation to grow.  My motto was always, if I eat… we eat!!

The Rest of this story Is history!!! I’m truly Grateful/ Thankful to be able to say that I am “Still !!!!!!!!

Still around, Still Growing & Still Blessed

Ps, I wrote my own about me, I wanted this to be RAW!! The real Demi

Thank you GOD!!!!!

God Bless
